This video begins with a fun compilation of Mike, an adventurer who takes you along, explaining everything there is to know about each of his explorations. You watch as the compilation shows clips of him shining his shoes, showering in a compact space, and asking “What is pillow spray?”
This video was taken before the pandemic shut down travel across the globe and he proudly announces even before the official introduction that the Caledonian Sleeper is the most luxurious train he’s ever traveled on. During the introduction, he explains he’s about to walk you through it all, from the room to the dining area.
This train takes passengers from Glasgow, Scotland to London, England overnight. He shows the Glasgow Central Station, pointing out its outdoor feel. For those traveling on the Caledonian Sleeper, boarding is one hour and a half early. This allows passengers to settle in and increase their rest time.

He mentions the hallways are quite narrow just before he enters his club car, which he’s hoping is more spacious than the halls. He hangs up his coat and starts taking it all in. “Wow, this is very nice,” he says. He starts by exploring the welcome bag, which includes soap, shampoo, conditioner, and the puzzling pillow spray.
He does a full room tour next, starting from the mirrored door. He shows the light controls and moves over to the bed area, where there is a top bunk in case two passengers travel together. However, he’s opted for a solo room, so the top bunk bed stays in the stored position.
He shows the single bed and the charging ports right next to it. One feature that stands out to him is the heat controls. Although he’s traveled on plenty of sleeper trains, none of them have offered that feature. He goes on to the other side of the club car and shows off the window and sink just beneath it.
Beneath the sink is a small fold-out table that’s perfect for meals in the room. Another door directly across from the bed leads to the restroom. He presents it as the shower — there is a small wooden bench, assist bars, and a shower head. When he lifts the wooden seat, he reveals the toilet beneath.
He walks you through the slightly awkward experience of showering in the compact restroom then takes you on a tour to the dining area to enjoy a snack. He explains the cost of train travel just before he settles into bed. The next morning, the staff delivers breakfast to his door just before he arrives at Euston Station in London.
